Boeing, ST Engineering sign P-8 sustainment MoU

Wencor makes Adams Rite Aerospace exclusive aftermarket distributor; MB Aerospace being acquired by Barnes; AE Industrial Partners invests in Yingling Aviation.

ST Engineering and Boeing officials signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to outline potential areas of collaboration in systems integration, training, local parts distribution, support, and sustainment work for the P-8A Poseidon. The P-8A is a military derivative of Boeing’s Next-Generation 737-800, with more than 160 aircraft in service.

The companies will explore jointly developing a P-8 service center in Singapore with engineers and aircraft maintenance technicians.

Wencor makes Adams Rite Aerospace exclusive aftermarket distributor

Adams Rite Aerospace (ARA) has extended its exclusive partnership with Wencor as its distributor supporting the commercial aftermarket in Europe, Middle East, the Americas, and Japan through a multiyear agreement.

The agreement includes the full range of ARA solutions for the commercial aftermarket including cockpit security, lavatory products, and hardware. Customers will continue buying ARA products through Wencor’s global distribution network. The agreement includes expanded support of the full, innovative suite of ARA Touchfree lavatory products.

Wencor, headquartered near Atlanta, Georgia, has additional offices in Utah, Alabama, California, Florida, New York, Texas, Vermont, Washington, Amsterdam, Singapore, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Istanbul. MB Aerospace being acquired by Barnes

Barnes Group Inc. is acquiring MB Aerospace, a provider of precision aero-engine component manufacturing and repair services serving major aerospace and defense engine original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Tier 1 suppliers, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers. The transaction, valued at $740 million, is expected to close in Q4 2023, subject to regulatory approvals.

MB Aerospace maintains its corporate headquarters in Motherwell, U.K. with an additional 10 facilities and approximately 1,450 employees across the U.S., U.K., Poland, and Taiwan. MB’s core capabilities include the manufacture of high-value fabricated assemblies and complex machined components, component repair, and vertically integrated special processes. The business supplies more than 100 aero-engine platforms, with customers including Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, and General Electric.

AE Industrial Partners invests in Yingling Aviation

U.S-based private equity firm AE Industrial Partners LP (AEI), specializing in aerospace, defense & government services, space, power & utility services, and specialty industrial markets, acquired a majority interest in Wichita, Kansas-based Yingling Aviation, a provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) and fixed-base operator (FBO) services to business aviation and government customers throughout the United States. Yingling Aviation Chairman and CEO Lynn Nichols and President Andrew Nichols will remain active leaders and investors in the company. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Yingling Aviation’s MRO services include airframe, engine, avionics upgrades, paint, interior, propeller sales and service, parts sales, and 24/7 FBO services in a 300,000ft2 facility with more than 180 employees.
