Boeing President and CEO Dave Calhoun is stepping down as CEO at the end of 2024.
Citing Calhoun’s decision to step down, Board Chair Larry Kellner didn’t seek re-election, adding it was the right time to name his successor. The board elected Steve Mollenkopf to succeed Kellner as independent board chair. Mollenkopf will lead the board’s process of selecting Boeing’s next CEO.
Kellner served on the Boeing board for 13 years and as its chair since late 2019, where he led the recruitment of seven new independent directors, bringing engineering, safety, manufacturing, and aerospace expertise to the board.
Mollenkopf has served on the board of directors since 2020. Previously CEO of Qualcomm, he has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering.
Stan Deal, Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) president and CEO, retired from the company and Stephanie Pope was appointed to lead BCA.
Pope has served as Boeing’s COO since January 2024. Previously, she was president and CEO of Boeing Global Services. Prior, she was CFO of BCA, and has held positions in every Boeing business unit. https://www.boeing.com
