D2 CNC Esco by Tornos is for precise, economic manufacturing of simple parts up to 0.157" in diameter in large and small lot sizes. The D2 CNC machines up to 100 pieces per minute without cams for significant reductions in production times and manufacturing costs.
The D2 CNC is equipped with a menu-guided CNC control that employs touch screen technology and conversational programming for flexible optimized manufacturing of turned parts without cycle time loss. The inclusion of CNC controls also allows turning speeds, feedrates and cutting speeds to be freely programmable. Additionally, the machine is outfitted with two cutting tools that revolve around the material at speeds up to 12,000rpm, enabling users to achieve enhanced precision, better surface finishes and closer tolerances.
Easier to set up and operate due to the absence of cams, the D2 CNC provides significant potential for productivity improvements through its automatic coil-fed system. Coil stock requires much less space than conventional bar stock, and also eliminates most of the changeover time associated with its more traditional counterpart. Coil stock of any shape can be fed into the D2 CNC; wire as small as 0.011" in diameter can be machined without bending or whipping.
