High-speed HMC offers pallet pool automation

The FH5000 Series high-speed horizontal machining centers (HMC) offer advanced pallet pool automation for efficient, flexible machining system operation. Pallet changers for single machines, as well as pallet pools for flexible machining systems, permit longer running time.

FH5000 Series machines include a 500mm table capable of handling 1,000kg loads and tool complements from 60 to more than 300 tools. FH5000 machines also offer 25% more machining capacity than other machines of their size.

Adaptive control in the standard machine package helps users manage tool life through acceptable spindle load ranges. The machine, control, and pallet automation are designed and built to operate seamlessly as a system.

The TOYOPUC-Touch panel control helps the operator monitor the machine, see operating data including energy consumption, and edit as required.

Automated tool measuring

The »coraMeasure LG« automated tool measurement system enables precise measurement results consistently, a high level of process reliability, and increased productivity.

The system consists of a »venturion« presetting and measuring machine, a linear robot, a pallet system with reject and buffer positions, and a manual transport cart.

Tools are assembled in the pallet system, then the linear robot removes the tools and loads them into the »venturion« for measuring. Each tool can be identified through the unique »idChip« system, and updated tool data is available in a database.

The unit can be implemented as a new system or retrofitted for an existing »venturion« machine. The system requires less than 64ft2 of shop floor space, can accommodate tools weighing up to 22 lb and up to 23.6" long. It can be configured for HSK-A 100, HSK-A 63, SK40, and SK50 toolholders. Up to 24 HSK-A 63 and 20 HSK-A 100 tools fit on each tool pallet.
