The MU-8000V vertical machining center for 5-axis, multi-sided machining has standard ballscrew cooling and a left-right, mobile trunnion table to support high precision and power. The low center of gravity in workpiece movement enables machining of difficult materials and a wide range of workpieces.
Available with a standard No. 40 or 50 spindle, The MU-8000V VMC provides a configuration for nearly any 5-axis job. An in-machine coil chip conveyor allows for safe, reliable chip discharge. Close proximity of the spindle and control panel, in addition to easy access to the workpiece, allows operators convenient access.
Maximum productivity comes from using the various automation options. The machine’s design places the pallet changers at the back of the machine, allowing easy access for connecting to a Palletace flexible manufacturing system, pallet pool, large capacity automatic tool changer, and robots.
The MU-8000V can be equipped with Okuma’s Super-NURBS function, enabling high feed rates and ultra-fine finishes. Also available is Okuma’s Machining Navi, which monitors cutting conditions and displays optimal spindle speed to eliminate chatter and 5-Axis Auto Tuning, which helps achieve higher accuracies by automatically measuring and correcting machine misalignments in minutes. Okuma’s Thermo-Friendly Concept and Collision Avoidance System are standard Intelligent Technologies that allow the 5-axis machining center to perform consistently from the first part to the last, regardless of warm-up time or ambient temperatures, while protecting the machine from potentially harmful crashes.
