Machining Large Composite Parts
The modular Precision Mill/Trim (PMT) system is a 5-axis gantry machine tool for high-speed multi-processing of large non-ferrous components. In addition to machining, the PMT uses various special heads, such as waterjet, sawing, and other finishing tools, including a system for precision control of countersink depth.
The dual-axis rotary spindle head is powered by direct-drive torque motors with encoder feedback, providing 220° of A-axis tilt and standard 550° of C-axis rotation. Options are available for additional or continuous C-axis rotation.

Fired Refractory Shapes
Cerox fired refractory shapes come in a range of material compositions, including many specifically used for the manufacture of rotating and non-rotating airplane components.
Sillimanite Cerox 200: Fired shapes from this material are 74% alumina and fired mullite, which are prized for their chemical attack resistance, good thermal shock, and non-wetting characteristics at termperatures as high as 2,850°F.
Cerox 700: Material also includes high alumina content as well as versatile shape capability, making it ideal for products with omplex shapes, including crucibles, tundishes, and launder systems.
Cerox720: Designed to develop shapes with thin walls, the Cerox 720 features high alumina content, fine grain, and high strength.

Solid Carbide Endmills
The Power Mill solid carbide end mills are based on unequal flute and helix design for chatter-free, high-end machining. All tools are coated with PVD technology and have smooth surface for the best possible chip evacuation.
All Power Mills end mills are fine balanced and equipped with Safe-Lock pull-out protection from 6mm shank diameter onwards.
The end mills range in diameters from 2mm to 20mm and are available with 3, 4, and 5 cutting edges. Different cutting solutions are also offered – sharp, chamfer, radius – as is a roughing geometry with a cord profile.
Geometry
- Unequal cutting edge and helix splitting
- 3, 4, and 5 cutting edges with different length of cut
- Sharp, chamfer, and radius cutting edge designs
- Cord cutting edge design
