Compact, Low-Voltage Power Supplies
The addition of two low-output voltage models extends the GWS500 series power supplies to six models with nominal outputs of 5V, 7.5V, 12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V. Combining the same high efficiency, high power density, and low standby power characteristics as other models within the GWS500 series, the 5V 80A-model and 7.5V 67A-model are well-suited for fitting into 1U enclosures.

The GWS series is a 400W to 500W AC-DC, forced air-cooled power supply that achieves up to 90% efficiency, dramatically cutting the heat generated in industrial, LED, display/signage, IT, test and measurement, and other applications.

To accommodate non-standard system voltages the GWS500’s output is user-adjustable, either via the built-in adjustment potentiometer or by injecting an external programming voltage.

These power supplies include overvoltage, overtemperature, and overcurrent protections. Also included are 5V/0.3A standby output, remote on/off, and DC good signal, as standard.

Accelerometer for Testing Applications
The Endevco model 7253D triaxial Isotron accelerometer is designed for applications requiring the measurement of shock and vibration simultaneously in three mutually perpendicular axes. Primary applications include the testing of aircraft engines, industrial engines, missiles, aircraft/engine/weapons components, spacecraft components, flight testing, and industrial machinery.

Model 7253D is small and lightweight with a broad frequency response. Each axis utilizes a type P-8 shear piezoelectric sensing element in conjunction with a hybrid charge amplifier to provide a low-impedance output of ±5V full scale in a two-wire IEPE system configuration. A constant current excitation of 2mA to 20mA is required for each axis, with the electrical connection made to each axis through a 4-pin connector.

Accessories included are the 3027AM3-120 cable, 42883 mounting screw assembly, and EHM488 wrench. Optional accessories include the models 123, 133, 2775B, or 2793 signal conditioner.

Digital Temperature Controller
The 5R7-570 RoHS-compliant open board electronic temperature controller is specifically designed with a proportional integral control algorithm to provide precise control to thermoelectric (Peltier effect) modules. The H-bridge temperature control provides a seamless transition between heating and cooling, eliminating dead spots. Green LED for heat and blue LED for cooling indicate mode, and simultaneous illumination indicates the load circuit is off due to an open sensor. Pulse width modulation controls the power level in the thermoelectric module at a base frequency of 1Khz. Power resolution is one of ±250 steps in the load circuit control.

Basics

  • Dimensions: 1.75" x 3.5" x 3"
  • Input voltage: 6VDC to 28VDC
  • Output voltage: 0 to 36VDC
  • Load current 0.1A to 12.5A
  • Control stability: ± 0.1°C
  • Temperature control range: -20°C to 150°C

Encoder-Ready Motor Controller
The RoHS-compliant PCM4806E drive allows an encoder input to the controller for closed-loop position correction capability. This particular drive is optimized to regulate a low-current power stage suitable for accurately controlling smaller can-stack linear actuators.

IDEA Drive’s encoder interface is designed to accept single-ended, 2-channel quadrature encoder input and an index signal. The 90° offset of Channel A and B allows the system to determine motor direction. A 1,000 line encoder will be translated by the firmware as a 2,000 pulse signal for use in position correction.

The drive platform also is designed with a graphic user interface (GUI) that allows system programming through on-screen buttons instead of complicated command sets or proprietary programming languages. Among the features of the GUI is automatic population of the motor and drive parameters based on entering a manufacturer’s actuator part number when prompted by the user interface.

Complex parameter calculations or in-depth stepper motor knowledge are unnecessary. For experienced users, default values can be adjusted as long as they remain within the safe range calculated by the software. That software allows system designers to easily troubleshoot programs using line-by-line or multiple line program execution using an interactive debug feature. Inputs and outputs can be simulated using the software before connecting actual I/O hardware.

Other features:

  • Programmable current control
  • Single supply voltage of 12VDC to 48VDC
  • Max-rated current per phase 0.6Arms (0.84Apeak)
  • 8 opto-isolated general purpose I/O
  • Input: 5VDC to 24VDC, 8mA max./input
  • Output: 5VDC to 24VDC, 200mA max./output
