Magnetron transmitter
Model 527 is a solid-state direct-coupled FET modulator with continuously variable pulse widths from 0.2 to 2.5 microseconds with PRF up to 2.5kHz. Direct-coupled solid-state FET modulators obtain a flat-topped pulse, fast rise/fall times, and consistent RF pulse stability. Arc energy to the magnetron is limited, helping clean an arcing magnetron, extending service life.
The modulator HVPS is a very efficient, >90% duty-cycle-regulated, DC-to-DC converter design. Both HVPS and modulator contain modular plug-in subassemblies. An optional position servo provides magnetron tuning at the front panel or through the remote interface. Internal access is available through the front and rear doors and lift-off side panels.

Iso-divider for space applications
The Ku-Band 4-Way Iso-divider is designed for use in satellite applications, representing a further expansion of the products available in this product line. The Iso-divider combines the functions of high performance power dividers with ferrite isolators to provide a high isolation power divider solution, making the external isolators redundant for satellite receiver applications, without introducing complex switch-based solutions. Integration of the two functions into a single package provides enhanced product reliability due to fewer external components, interconnects, and transitions. Marrying the power divider and isolators in the same package allows the performance of the integrated unit to be carefully matched, and better overall performance can be obtained. Size and weight of the new product are considerably less than an equivalent discrete assembly.

Carbon-graphite bushings
Metcar carbon-graphite bushings, used in gear pumps that delivers aviation fuel into aircraft engines, support the drive gear shaft and the idler gear shaft. Carbon-graphite bushings are preferred for this application because they can use aviation fuel as the bushing lubricant. Since carbon-graphite material has no atomic attraction to a metallic shaft, the thin film of fuel is sufficient to lubricate metallic shafts running in the bushings.
Carbon-graphite bushings are also self-lubricating and can run dry for short periods without catastrophic pump failure or significant wear. Dimensional stability permits the close bushing-to-shaft running clearances that are required in gear pump applications.
With relatively low elastic modulus, carbon-graphite bushings are elastic enough to be easily press-fit into the metallic gear pump housing. After being press-fit, the bushings are pre-stressed in compression, so they exhibit nearly the same coefficient of thermal expansion as the metallic gear pump housing material. This assures that the running clearance between the shafts and the bushings will remain the same throughout the pump’s operating temperature range.

Smallest connector in the series
A new connector size has been added to the Lemo M series, MM connectors, which are the most compact in the lightweight M Series product line. MM plugs and cable mount sockets come with LEMO’s ratchet-coupling shells and offer weight and space savings with environmental protection.
MM connectors are available with three or four contacts and are some of the smallest IP68 connectors that LEMO offers. With this very small connector, LEMO completes the M series range of connectors for the automotive / racing / aerospace market by offering connectors suitable for cable diameters 2mm to 27mm and contact configurations from 2 to 114 contacts.
The M series is designed specifically for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) military, security, and aerospace applications, as well as other harsh environment applications that require robust performance in a lightweight, compact size.

Planar transformer
The PH9278NL planar transformer is built on the new ER25+ platform and can be customized depending on the application. The platform measures 33.5mm x 26.8mm x 18.3mm and delivers 50% greater power (up to 800W) than transformers built on an ER28 platform that measures 35.5mm x 30.5mm x 12.6mm. The increased power is achieved by increasing the effective cross-sectional area of the core by 40%. This results in lower core losses for a given number of winding turns. Additionally, copper losses can be reduced by removing some winding turns. The cost-effective flat coil windings have 50% lower direct current resistance compared to multilayer PCB technology, and the core design allows for a compact inter-connection and termination of the winding elements.
Modern finite element analysis techniques were used to analyze and optimize the core design to balance the flux distribution and increase the effective cross-sectional area without increasing the core size.
The planar transformers are RoHS compliant and meet standard EIA481 requirements. They are available in tape-and-reel packaging.
