Explosion-Proof Vacuum Series
Ideal for heavy pick-up in an around production equipment, storage areas, or for use as a central vacuum system, the DS2-EX Series of continuous-duty vacuums not only removes the risk of a possible explosion, but also increases productivity, while turning a workspace into a dust-free zone.
Fully compliable with OSHA and NFPA initiatives for combustible dust, the DS2-EX Series is one of Ruwac’s largest explosion-proof vacuum series to date, with eight different models featuring continuous-duty operation and high performance (up to 506cfm) in a compact size for easy mobility. Each DS2-EX includes an explosion-proof TEFC motor alongside a multi-stage centrifugal, high-performance turbine and relief valve rated for all-day operation.
The vacuum’s modular housing is offers a small footprint and is made from a durable carbon impregnated fiberglass composite backed by a lifetime guarantee. A foot-actuated 24-gallon dustpan provides increased collection and dust-free emptying, while MicroClean filtration ensures the vacuum system never clogs. Optional HEPA filters are also available.

Solid Carbide Chamfering Drills
The Walter Titex X-treme Step 90 and the X-treme Pilot Step 90 for XD (extra deep) drilling applications are engineered to boost productivity, process reliability, and workpiece quality.
Suitable for universal use, the Titex X-treme Step 90 is available with or without internal coolant. The four-margin design is well suited to entering in uneven surfaces up to 5°, uneven exits up to 45°, and cross holes. In addition, the drill’s countersink of 90° limits the need for deburring and facilitates chamfering. The drill has a point geometry (140° point angle) that makes it suitable for universal use. The drill’s XPL coating enables universal use and provides for secure chip evacuation plus superior wear resistance and tool life.
The Walter Titex X-treme Pilot Step 90 solid carbide chamfering drill XD features a two-flute design, short length for maximum stability, 2xDc pilot length to provide the best alignment for the XD drill, and a 90° countersink. Its array of features provides for position accuracy, repeatability, and optimum alignment and guidance for the XD drill. It has a 150° point angle and point geometry designed for the best positioning accuracy.
Both the drills have a wide application range and are engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, heat resistant alloys, and hardened steels, as well as composites and plastics.

Jet Engine Rotor Balancing
Aerospace companies have a new technology at hand to reduce the time it takes to balance jet engine rotors to more exacting tolerances.
Kin-Dex balancing tools, from Vibration Solutions North (VSN), incorporate kinematic mounting principles to increase repeatability when locating rotors on a fixture or during the indexing process. By improving repeatability, MROs can speed up the business process of balancing, because no time is wasted in trying to dial in the previous location.
Kin-Dex technology forms the foundation of VSN’s portfolio of capabilities, which include rotor balancing services in a state-of-the-art facility. According to company officials, the facility delivers vast improvements in the speed and precision of balancing processes for jet engines and other complex equipment.
Based on the Kin-Dex technology, VSN’s advanced rotor balancing capabilities include:
- Rotor Balancing Services: The facility is equipped to balance any rotor up to 100" in diameter and 5,000 lb to extremely tight tolerances of only a few micro-inches.
- Balancing Tooling: VSN designs and manufactures custom balance machine tooling that reduce the time required to properly balance legacy rotors as well as the new generation of rotors to the extremely tight tolerances specified for jet engines and other precision equipment.
- Tooling Evaluation and Repair: VSN balancing experts can diagnose a company’s current tooling and processes, and repair or replace the tooling to meet exacting customer requirements.
