The DMU 65 monoBLOCK offers a dynamic NC swivel-rotary table for milling operations from roughing to finishing at high levels. In addition to the high-speed rotary axes of the NC swivel-rotary table, there is an increase in dynamic, and the 1.77" wide roller guides maximize process stability. Three-point support allows short start-up times and at 80.73ft2, it is the most compact machine of its class.
Despite the small space requirement, the DMU 65 monoBLOCK’s machining compartment features axis paths of 28.94" x 25.59" x 22.05" in X, Y, and Z. The entire NC swivel rotary table surface can be traversed, allowing the workpieces to be machined in one pass. Oversize workpieces, up to 33.07" diameter and up to 2,205 lb, can be loaded on the NC swivel rotary table.
The operator has access to the machining compartment through a 51.56" door opening and the 31.5" table height allows ergonomic body position while working. Given the heavy weight of the workpieces, the standard design allows for unrestricted workpiece loading by crane from above.
A 30-, 60-, 90-, 120-, or 180-position tool magazine is also included, with the loading station located in the front area of the machine so the operator can always function in a normal work environment. The control panel can swing directly toward the tool-loading station, with the fast, sword-type tool changer reducing the chip-to-chip time to 4.9 seconds.
Steep slants of the machining compartment allows for unrestricted swarf drop, while the stainless steel lining of the machining compartment ensures long operating life. A wide, centrally arranged chip conveyor permits fast and process-reliable chip removal toward the rear of the machine.
The DMU 65 monoBLOCK features modular equipment configurations for the motor spindles. Starting with a spindle speed of 10,000rpm (at torque of 82Nm) in the standard version, application- oriented options include:
- 14,000rpm (130Nm)
- 18,000rpm (130Nm)
- 24,000rpm (100Nm)
- 10,000rpm (200Nm)
The universal modular system of the DMU 65 monoBLOCK comes with production packages that include an internal coolant supply of up to 1,160psi. The machine is offered with CELOS from DMG MORI with the 21.5" ERGOline control with Operate 4.5 on Siemens 840D Solutionline or Heidenhain TNC 640.
