HMC 5-Axis Simultaneous Machining
The versatile F series HMCs for 5-axis simultaneous machining comes with three high performance spindle options for different cutting conditions and part configurations. Each machine delivers high torque at low speeds during milling, including simultaneous machining in 5-axes.
The F2000 – a 5-axis machining center with swivel head – includes many proven machine components from Heller's modular machining center line, offers a large working area of 800mm x 800mm x 1,000mm (X, Y, Z), and accommodates a 630mm pallet and 3,080 lb workpiece.
The swivel-head provides a fifth axis, delivering constant high cutting performance in the horizontal and vertical position, as well as any spatial angle. This is of special importance for aerospace applications. The proven 5-axis kinematics provided by the tool in X, Y, C, or A, and two axes provided by the workpiece in the Z- and B-axis, provide the user high precision, machining versatility, and high dynamics.

Pressure Decay Leak Testing Calculator
Aerospace engineers and product developers can now obtain the first in a family of automated USON NDT Test Calculators – to generate nearly instantaneous answers to what – if modeling of pressure decay leak testing variables and exact returns-on-investment from new 8-sensor concurrent leak testing technology.
Joe Pustka, USON leak detection equipment technical specialist, explains that this is the first of several automated calculators USON will be making available in the coming months. Pustka comments, “Pressure decay leak tests are only one of the dozen types of tests that the Optima vT Leak and Flow Tester performs. That gives you nearly half a billion different permutations of how you could use this technology if you are looking at test methodology alone. When adding in the innumerable possibilities for part sizes, shapes, volumes, test pressures, acceptable leak rates, pneumatic controls affecting cycle times, and so forth – All of which Optima vT can be custom-configured to handle with maximum efficiency – it becomes apparent why we are creating these automated calculators for our customers and all those who are looking at ways to constantly improve test processes, efficiencies and throughput.”

High-Performance Machining Center
Increase the machine capability with rapid positioning speeds and fast job changeovers, while providing a smooth integration of their precision rotary tables, the Hardinge GX 1000 OSP operates in a fully-interpolated fashion with the other axes of the machine.
Hardinge rotary packages include the Okuma motor and cables to connect the fourth-axis to the pre-wired Bridgeport GX 1000 vertical machining center with an OSP control. The Bridgeport VMC must be pre-wired to accept the rotary package. Rotary systems operate using just the Hardinge servo control if the true fourth-axis is not required.
Hardinge has a large selection of rotary products that are compatible with the Bridgeport GX 1000 OSP machining center including single- and multi-spindle units. Hardinge rotary products incorporate an A2-4, A2-5, or 5C threaded-nose collet-ready spindle that will accept collets, expanding collets, step chucks, and chucks (as well as the traditional faceplate) to expand part-gripping capabilities and improve part accuracies. The generous 44.09" x 21.25" machine table provides plenty of room for a rotary table and vise, allowing maximum job flexibility.
