Easy-to-Use Bed Mills
The TRAK FHM series machines, featuring the easy-to-use ProtoTRAK SMX CNC, are designed to increase the productivity of toolroom and small-lot work. The ProtoTRAK SMX CNC enables users to transition freely between manual and CNC operation. Advanced features include standard electronic head, electronic handwheels, and powerful servomotors for rapids up to 250ipm.

The TRAK FHM series bed mills have the unique TRAKing feature that enable the user to run complete part programs in the CNC and retain complete control of the machine feed. Cranking the hand wheel during TRAKing runs the X-, Y-, and Z-axis as programmed. The machinist can run forward through the entire program, back up through the entire program, crank fast or slow, even turn off the spindle to take a measurement during program run.

The control of the TRAK FHM series bed mills is the ProtoTRAK SMX. The ProtoTRAK SMX features geometry-based programming that is intuitive for machinists, making it useful for those who have limited exposure to G-Code programming.

Roughneck Weld Cleaning Brush
A 4-1/2" roughneck has been added to the line of high performance stringer bead brushes available from Weiler Corp. This high-performance stringer bead brush is designed specifically for use on 4½" mini-grinders. Although 4-1/2" is the most popular size of small angle grinders, welders and fabricators using this tool have traditionally been limited to 4" diameter stringer bead wheels for surface preparation, root-pass weld cleaning, and inter-pass weld cleaning. The Weiler 4-1/2" brush is designed for the longer cleaning action and extended product life on small angle grinders.

Ultra-Fast Curing Adhesives
Master Bond EP65HT-1 combines high temperature resistance and fast room temperature curing in a NASA low outgassing approved epoxy. It also offers excellent electrical insulation capabilities and strong chemical resistance.
With an extremely high glass transition temperature exceeding 125ºC, EP65HT-1 features fast cure times, even when mixed in small masses. For example, a 10g to 20g mass will cure in three to five minutes at room temperature. It is serviceable over the wide temperature range of -60ºF to 400ºF, has a tensile shear strength approaching 3,000psi, and a Shore D hardness greater than 75. EP65HT-1 bonds well to a wide range of substrates and is widely used in the electrical, electronic, computer, medical, optical, transportation, aerospace, and OEM industries. The adhesive is dark brown in color and is available in a convenient dispensing gun that mixes the parts with a 10 to 1 ratio.

Dual-Spindle Turning Centers
The Haas DS-30 Series dual-spindle turning centers provide the ability to turn both ends of a part in a single setup to minimize part handling, increase throughput, and reduce work-in-process. The opposed spindles offer fully synchronized turning for clean part-off, and allow on-the-fly part pass-off to reduce cycle times. The DS machines are available in standard and Super Speed configurations.

The standard DS-30 has a maximum cutting capacity of 21" x 26", and is equipped with a 12-station BOT turret. The A2-6 main spindle features an 8.3" hydraulic chuck, and is powered by a 30hp vector drive system that provides 275ft/lb of torque. The A2-5 secondary spindle also has an 8.3" hydraulic chuck, and is powered by a 20hp vector drive system that provides 150ft/lb of cutting torque. Both spindles turn up to 4,000rpm, and have a 2.0" bar capacity. Rapids are 945ipm on all axes.

The Super Speed DS-30SS has a maximum cutting capacity of 16" x 26", and is equipped with a 24-station hybrid BOT/VDI turret. The A2-6 main spindle features an 8.3" hydraulic chuck, and is powered by a 30hp vector drive system that provides 250ft/lb of torque. The A2-5 secondary spindle also has an 8.3" hydraulic chuck, and is powered by a 20hp vector drive system that provides 150ft/lb of cutting torque. Both spindles turn up to 4,800rpm, and have a 2.0" bar capacity. Rapids are 945ipm on the X axis and 1,200ipm on the Z axis.

Both DS machines provide a maximum swing of 31.75" over the front apron, with a 20.75" swing over the cross slide. Standard equipment includes rigid tapping, spindle orientation, a 15" color LCD monitor, and a USB port. Available high-productivity options include a belt-type chip conveyor, automatic tool probe, automatic parts catcher, and high-pressure coolant systems.
