Join the fun and NAME THAT PLANE!

Aerospace Manufacturing and Design welcomes all aircraft enthusiasts to join in the fun and NAME THAT PLANE! Each issue, a new aircraft will be featured in the Aviation Appreciation section. Runners-up (2nd through 5th place) – An Aerospace Manufacturing and Design consolation prize, which may be hats, pens, T-shirts, or other exciting products for your enjoyment.

Please send your answers via email to Matt Grasson, mgrasson@gie.net, with "Aviation Appreciation" in the subject line. Only email entries will qualify.

The entry deadline for the October 2011 contest is January 4, 2012, with winners announced in the

How long have you been in the current industry?
31 years

How did you become interested in aircraft?
When I was a kid, my big brother built plastic models of airplanes, and built and flew remote control planes. He could look up and identify any airplane in the sky.

I was always looking up to him so it was natural
for me to be enthused about all things aviation.

What is your favorite aircraft?
My favorite aircraft is the F-4 Phantom II.

Runners Up:

Mark Stepien, Engineer,
A-1 Machining Co.,
New Britain, CT

Randolph Bush, President,
Elan Technical Corp., Fairfield, CT

John Fishback, Military and Aerospace Products Manager,
Quality Thermistor, Boise, ID

Mark Liggett, Production Manager,
Farwest Aircraft Inc.,
Edgewood, WA

Contestants may not win the first place prize more than once throughout the duration of the contest, and may only win consolation prizes once per calendar year. Due to the unpredictable nature of postal delivery, prizes will be determined by random drawing from all correct answers received, after a three week waiting period from the issue's mailing date. The first drawing will name the 1st place winner, followed by four consecutive drawings for consolation prizes. Please send comments or feedback regarding the contest to Matt Grasson, mgrasson@gie.net
