Believe it or not, the International Manufacturing and Technology Show (IMTS 2010) is just a few short months away. Throughout the week of September 13, 2010, manufacturers will have an opportunity to compare the world of machines, tools, and technologies side by side. There is no other show on this side of the world that comes close to IMTS 2010 – in terms of offering manufacturers an opportunity to meet with leading technology experts that can help provide solutions to today’s manufacturing problems and challenges, as well as providing cutting-edge ideas for the future.

Just being able to see the latest technologies, and talk with the individuals that design and build this equipment, should be enough to propel the curiosity of serious minded manufacturers, making attendance at the show a must.

However, there is also another benefit to attending IMTS. Said to be “Where Education and Technology Connect,” it is the IMTS 2010 Industry & Technology Conference. Beginning Tuesday morning September 14, and running through Friday morning, more than 50 presentations covering topic tracks in the areas of Material Engineering, Machining Technology and Trends, Alternative Manufacturing Processes, Metrology, and Plant Operations will take place. Sessions will explore innovative, as well as revered, technologies, business development, and optimization, plus workforce efficiency and productivity. In addition, special emphasis is being placed on maintaining focus on short and long term goals during a struggling economic environment. Presentations on topics such as Catch Part Defects Before They Happen, CAM Software and Your Profitability, Capital Equipment Justification – The Truth About ROI, and Gaining 50% Productivity with Workholding, just to name a few, will provide valuable insights into solving nagging everyday problems prevalent on today’s manufacturing floor.  Show attendees can purchase a single-day pass or a super-pass – covering all three and one-half days of presentations – in advance or at  IMTS 2010. The cost of the pass also includes breakfast and lunch.

Furthermore, anyone registering for the conferences will be admitted to the Industry Inspiration Day luncheon. Taking place on the opening day of IMTS 2010, the luncheon begins with presentations from key market leaders in the aerospace, medical, energy, and automotive industries, followed by a panel discussion. Featured presenters include: Allan McArtor, chairman and CEO, Airbus Americas; Rene van de Zande, president/CEO, Emergo Group; Denise Bode, president/CEO, American Wind Energy Association; and Jim Tetreault, VP of North American Manufacturing, Ford Motor Company.

Attending the IMTS 2010 Show and Conference will be a true learning experience and I promise you won’t regret it.
