Automated Sharpening at Low Cost
The XT-3000 Auto Sharpener completely automates the drill sharpening function of the XT-3000 – enabling faster, more consistent sharpening of many types of drills. The XT is already a workhorse sharpener with the capability of sharpening drills, countersinks, brad points, left hand drills, and more. The new feature will allow the user to simply align the drill, push the start button, and allow the auto sharpening feature to regrind the bit to ANSI specifications.
It has the capability to sharpen drills sized 3mm to 21mm simply, easily, and quickly. Not only does the auto sharpener sharpen drills, it is also programmed to monitor and provide the number of sharpenings it has completed. This enables the user to not only measure the productivity, but also alert the user to perform regular maintenance.

Series of Sealed Two-Finger Parallel Grippers
The successful DPGplus series of sealed 2-finger parallel grippers has been extended with sizes 240 and 300. The pneumatic drive with oval pistons and the multi-tooth guides ensure the user precise and reliable gripping – helping maintain a high level of machine up time, and high returns from your production and assembly applications.

The DPGplus sealed 2-finger parallel gripper is an expert at handling rough or dirty workpieces. It is perfectly suited for loading and unloading in harsh environments, like grinding machines, lathes, and milling machines. It is also suitable for use in painting systems, powder coating systems, or underwater.

The sealed grippers of the DPG-plus series feature sealing class IP 67 for the highest sealing in its class, with moments between 30Nm and 160Nm, (22ft/lb - 118ft/lb) depending on the direction of load and size of the unit and grip forces up to 11,700N (2,630 lb/f). The high sealing class and performance are made possible by combining a multi-tooth guide with a round sealing surface of the base jaws toward the outside.

HyperPressure Technology with Dynamic Waterjet
Waterjet users continue to ask for higher cutting speeds and greater precision and the HyperJet pump is the answer with Flow's development of the industry’s highest rated pump together with advanced high precision cutting machines. Flow’s HyperJet pumps are rated at 94,000psi, and provide a substantial 45% increase in pressure over traditional ultrahigh-pressure systems. Pressure equals productivity; the additional pressure produced by the HyperJet pump increases cutting speeds up to 50%, while lowering abrasive consumption and part cost by up to 30%.

Speed, without accuracy, can mean lower quality parts. Flow developed Dynamic Waterjet by incorporating unique mathematical cutting models to compensate for the stream lag and taper produced by all waterjets. Dynamic Waterjet’s articulated wrist tilts as required to hold inside corners and other geometries to achieve precision parts at far higher cutting speeds.

Flow will demonstrate these two technologies on the Mach 3 waterjet – the Mach 3 is powered by FlowMaster, a waterjet programming and control software.

Range of CAM Software
Programs on display will include Delcam for SolidWorks software, plus the 2010 releases of PowerMILL for high-speed and five-axis machining; FeatureCAM for feature-based programming; PartMaker for Swiss-type lathes and turn-mill equipment; and ArtCAM for engraving and routing.

The new release of PowerMILL is based on 64-bit technology, removing the memory limitations of 32-bit computers to give faster toolpath generation. More than 50 other major enhancements have been added to give faster and easier generation of highly efficient toolpaths for three- through five-axis milling.

The 2010 version of FeatureCAM also includes enhancements across the full range of functionality, from 2D drilling and wire EDM, to five-axis milling and mill-turn operations. In addition to changes to allow the use of hardware developments, improved algorithms have been introduced to speed up the editing of features and to reduce the time needed to switch between machine tool set-ups.

Major highlights of the new release of PartMaker include the ability to perform five-axis simultaneous milling on multi-axis lathes, more powerful milling functionality, enhanced grooving routines, faster toolpath creation, and better programming of thread whirling.

CNC Mill/turn Center
Ganesh Cyclone 52-TTMY CNC mill/turn center comes with 32-tools and a Mitsubishi control, and featuring full bar, chuck, and shaft machining capability – with 2" bar capacity and 6" chucks. The integral main and integral sub-spindle spindles both feature 6,000rpm capability for fine surface finishes, as well as a C axis, so that milling and drilling operations can be completed all in one operation on the front and backside of the workpiece. The Y axis features ±40mm of off-center movement to allow the completion of off-center work in the same chucking.

The 0.3 second indexing of the dual 16-station live tool turrets helps keep cycle times low. Any combination of live tooling, or ID and OD static tools, can be mounted to provide 32-tool stations to get the job done right.

The 30hp Mitsubishi AC-digital spindle motor provides ample power for roughing operations. The machine power, coupled with the rigidity of heavily ribbed cast-iron construction, enhances productivity and provides for enhanced surface finish and improved tool life.

Lathe and Spindle Alignment System
Pinpoint Laser Systems has a new measuring and alignment system for lathes, turning equipment, spindles, and related machinery. Ideal applications include aligning lathes and turning centers, adjusting boring mills, aligning drive shafts, adjusting barfeeders, and many other industrial applications.

The newest Microgage system provides information on runout, centerline offset, parallelism, concentricity and other useful parameters that can guide machinery back to optimal alignment and improved profits.

This Pinpoint lathe and spindle alignment system is simple and quick to use with a round laser that is secured into a chuck, or attached to the end of a shaft or spindle. A dual-axis receiver is placed on the tailstock, toolholder, or another piece of equipment that can receive the laser beam. As the laser and the receiver move relative to each other, the digital display provides a precise reading of the alignment and machine’s characteristics.

This Microgage Spindle Alignment tool can measure to a precision of 0.0001" or better, and the laser allows for alignments of distances as great as 150ft. The recent introduction of Pinpoint’s Microgage 2D brings added precision, easy to follow screen instructions, and new optical and digital technology to the alignment of spindles and lathes.

The kit operates on batteries, and all components are machined of solid anodized aluminum or stainless steel for wear resistance. A serial and USB interface connect to a laptop or PC and link to popular spreadsheets for plotting and analyzing data for maintenance records, customer compliance and other uses.

This Microgage system includes a compact carrying case to store the components and is easily carried right out onto the manufacturing floor.
