Low-Profile Rotary Table
Hardinge’s GD160LP rotary table provides rigidity, speed, accuracy, low-profile, and repeatability. The hardened steel wormgear provide long life and continued accuracy while the double eccentric design offers the finest possible gear mesh. The 5C A2-4 spindle allows the customer to use their existing 5C spindle tooling without adaptors.

Also on display will be the GD210LP rotary table, 16C Rotary System, Trunnion system with Hardinge collet blocks mounted, and the FlexC Collet System. The FlexC system is available in 42mm and 65mm sizes, with adaptation chucks and mounts available for most CNC lathes.

Vertical Machining Centers
Haas has redesigned the entire VF product line to incorporate a wide range of enhancements. Haas engineers reviewed all aspects of the machines – including motion control, coolant containment, chip evacuation, ergonomics, and serviceability – made improvements, and put everything into an all-new package.

To ensure smooth, precise motion control, the 2010 Haas VMCs use next-generation digital servomotors and high-resolution encoders on all axes. Combined with significant software and motor-control advancements, they yield a higher accelerations and improved surface-finish performance.

With an eye toward preventing chip and coolant egress during machining, Haas invested considerable effort up front to optimize the enclosures on the VMCs, paying close attention to panel fit, service access, and internal routing of plumbing and cables. The result is a better enclosure and a simpler overall design that thoroughly contains chips and coolant while increasing reliability and simplifying service.

Turning Programming Software
PartMaker Version 2010, the latest version for programming CNC mills, lathes, wireEDMs, turn-mill centers, and Swiss-type lathes, features a number of enhancements that will allow users to program faster, make more complex parts, and take advantage of the latest in machine tool technology.

Increasing Material Removal Rates
CYCLO CUT tools and CYCLO COOL fluids have proven capability to increase material removal rates in titanium aerostructures by as much as 300% – resulting in faster cycle times, 33% cost-per-part reductions, and increased tool life.

MAG’s WYLCUT-SWIFT brand of wobble broaches and insert removal tooling solutions are utilized in the production and refurbishment of the thin wall insert system for the manufacture and maintenance of aeroengines and turbines.

With a portfolio of more than 14,000 unique tool types, CYCLO CUT products include indexable milling tools, rotary cutting tools, and toolholders for roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing operations across titanium, aluminum, and composite applications. CYCLO CUT cutting tools include a range of solid carbide, brazed carbide, polycrystalline diamond, and high-speed steel endmills, routers, standard drills, micro and circuit board drills, reamers, keyseat cutters, plunge and chamfer mills, countersinks, saws, and files. CYCLO CUT indexable milling tools are designed for cutting titanium and are capable of removal rates up to 11 in3/min. Cost-Effective Abrasive Waterjet
The MAXIEM 1515 integrates proven technologies in a cost-efficient package to provide users with an affordable, highly productive fabricating and metal-cutting solution. OMAX will demonstrate the abrasive waterjet with a 30hp high-pressure direct drive 50,000psi pump, and Intelli-MAX Basic, a control containing the core functionality of OMAX’s software. The machine also features the patent pending X and Y axis traction drive system. With a table size of 92" x 69" and a maximum table load of 125 lb/ft², the abrasive waterjet productively cuts a wide variety of materials without creating heat-affected zones or mechanical stresses. By cutting parts directly from the plate, the MAXIEM 1515 also dramatically reduces setup time and material usage.

Software for Maximizing Programming Efficiency
GibbsCAM 2010 includes multiple new features, additions, enhancements, and productivity tools. Many capabilities have been added to make programming and machining easier and more efficient, especially with features in 5-axis and solids machining. Also implemented is 64-bit operation to enable faster processing of long programs and complex parts. In addition, the recent integration of VoluMill makes GibbsCAM compatible with the Windows 7 operating system. Key 5-axis enhancements include more spiral machining options, new gouge check projection options, a lead in/lead out flip option, an axial shift damp option for trimming applications, and support for countersink and keyway cutters.

CNC 32-Tool Mill/Turn Center
The Ganesh Cyclone 52-CS CNC mill/turn center, comes with 32-tools and a MITUSBISHI control. Featuring full bar, chuck, and shaft machining capability, it has 2" bar capacity and 6" chucks. The integral main and sub-spindle both feature 6,000rpm capability for fine surface finishes, as well as a C-axis so that milling and drilling operations can be completed in one operation on the front and back-side of the workpiece. The Y-axis features ±40mm of off-center movement to allow for the completion of off-center work in the same chucking.

The fast 0.3 second indexing of the dual 16-station live tool turrets helps keep cycle times low, and any combination of live tooling, or ID and OD static tools, can be mounted to provide 32-tool stations to complete the job.

The 30hp MITUSBISHI AC-digital spindle motor provides ample power for roughing operations. The machine power, coupled with the rigidity of heavily ribbed cast-iron construction to dampen cutting vibration, enhances productivity and provides for enhanced surface finish and improved tool life.

Second Spindle Ram Added To UMC
MAG doubles the productivity of its lean-machining solution for large parts by adding a second spindle ram to the U5-1500 universal machining center (UMC). The U5-1500DR fits two spindle rams to the U5s modular gantry platform, providing the stiffness to machine large parts, hard metals, and complex geometries with extreme accuracy. The dual ram design enables simultaneous 5-axis, five-side machining of two identical parts, mirrored parts (left and right hand), or two features at the same time on a single part.

U5-1500 UMC enable 5-axis machining and contouring with automatic interchangeable heads to minimize machine downtime, part reorientations, set-ups, and damage potential for massive, high-value workpieces.
