Rotary Indexer
The Hardinge GD5C2 rotary indexer weighs 55 lb, allowing the ability to place it without the use of a hoist. The GD5C2 is a thoroughly-sealed system that keeps coolant out and lubricant in. As the number diagram shows, it has a robust, (1) dual-bearing spindle that accommodates heavy radial and axial loads increasing overall indexing capabilities. A 50 lb (23kg) part weight and 500 lb (2,224N) tailstock thrust per spindle is not a problem – even on a quad unit with tailstocks. The (2) spindle, (3) worm drive shaft, and (4) cross-axis helical gear are machined on a Hardinge super-precision lathe, and then finish-ground for high accuracy and repeatability. (5) Double eccentrics provide fine gear mesh adjustment for extended life and improved accuracy. The Hardinge GD5C2 rotary indexer combines all the right ingredients to make precision parts – speed, flexibility, and ruggedness with a maximum run-out of 0.2tir is standard. This indexer can be used to position parts for milling, drilling, tapping, contouring, engraving, grinding, welding, assembly, and automation.

Bore Alignment Kit
This precision Microgage Bore Alignment Kit for industrial applications is suited for aligning extrusion presses, rams, precision screws, lathes and turning centers, propeller shafts and stern tubes, bar feeders, and many other demanding applications. The Microgage Bore Alignment Kit is compact, precise, easy to set up, and affordable for small and large firms alike.

The Microgage Bore Alignment System consists of a cylindrical laser that can be adapted to bores of all sizes. The laser reference beam is projected to a digital receiver that is held in a mount with a similar precision bore diameter. This mount is reversible so that the receiver can catch the laser beam coming either through the bore tube or from the outside, and measurement readings are transmitted to a handheld display. Readings as small as 0.0001" (0.003mm) define the bore or shaft’s alignment, guiding the user to what changes are needed for optimal performance. Measurements can be made over a range of 150ft, and simple fixtures expand the options for aligning a variety of machines. A computer interface can store readings and connect the Microgage to common programs and spreadsheets. The Microgage Bore Alignment Kit is highly versatile for use either on the factory floor or in the field and fits into a small carrying case for easy storage.

Wireless Handwheel
Especially useful on large machine tools, the electronic wireless handwheel HR 550 FS, allows the user to concentrate entirely on the action in the machine’s working space. Used in conjunction with the Heidenhain iTNC 530 control, this HR 550 FS wireless handwheel communicates with its base via a 2.4GHz ISM radio band. Functional Safety(FS), means the handwheel corresponds to the valid requirements for safety such as an emergency stop button and permissive buttons. If the machine operator moves out of range, it reacts with a vibration alarm.

The colored and raised axis keys of the HR 550 FS wireless handwheel permit traverse of up to six NC axes. The handwheel display consists of a header and six status lines. It displays important machine conditions and information (e.g., position of the selected axis, spindle speed, feedrate, error messages, active basic rotation, and tilted working plane) as well as the functions of the five soft keys, which the machine integrator can assign as desired.
