Session Topic: Integration of 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing (AM) Into Production
Acceptance of additive manufacturing (AM) is accelerating throughout numerous industry sectors from aerospace to automotive, electronics, medical, and oil & gas. Companies are creating enhanced products that leverage the functional design and creative complexity capable with these technologies. As AM continues to proliferate in acceptance and incorporation through these industries, the challenge becomes how to integrate AM into existing manufacturing operations such that the companies can support the demand. Many risks exist in establishing additive manufacturing within a new or existing company, ranging from adherence to specifications and standards, thermal processing, post-processing, and dimensional and quality verification. Methods 3D has established an organization dedicated to assisting companies in mitigating these risks by providing full turnkey solutions.
