AIT receives AS9100C certification at Grand Prairie

Accreditation covers the design and manufacture of automated aircraft assembly systems and tooling equipment, manufacture of aerospace components and subassemblies, and tooling support services.

Plano, Texas – Advanced Integrated Technology’s (AIT’s) Aerospace Components and Services manufacturing center in Grand Prairie, Texas, has received AS9100C accreditation for the design and manufacture of automated aircraft assembly systems and tooling equipment, manufacture of aerospace components and subassemblies, and tooling support services.

The AS9100 certification is the standard to which aerospace suppliers are measured and reflects AIT’s continuous improvement efforts and commitments made by its employees to deliver the highest quality products to customers. The addition of AS9100C certification complements AIT’s ISO 9001:2008 certification and highlights the company's focus on supporting the stringent requirements of the aerospace, aviation, and defense industries.

The AS9100C standard provides for a comprehensive quality management system focused on areas directly impacting product safety and reliability, including configuration management, purchasing controls, product realization, monitoring and measurement.

“We began upgrading our quality management system to AS9100C early in 2014 when we expanded our market presence by adding tooling and aerospace component and parts capabilities to our Grand Prairie location,” said AIT Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Karl Williams. “Pursuing AS9100C certification was a logical next step for improving our systems while growing our business.”

AIT Grand Prairie’s Aerospace Components and Services Division features 100,000ft2 of manufacturing space, and is an extension of the AIT San Antonio manufacturing center, which encompasses 320,000ft2 of manufacturing space. AIT Grand Prairie provides tailored services for program support, maintenance, and development for commercial, business, and military aircraft and focuses on emergent and detail parts as well as local on-site support.
