AIM Aviation to Build New Factory

New 31,000ft2 facility will be built next to the company's current building in Byfleet, U.K.

AIM Aviation’s Galley Division will invest in a new factory next to its current location in Byfleet, U.K., that will be used for production and testing, according to company representatives.

Construction on the 31,000ft2 facility is expected to begin in September 2013, with it fully commissioned by summer 2014.

Wayne Ball, general manager of AIM Aviation’s Galley business, says the new building will support AIM Aviation’s growth in the wide-body galley market.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to expand into an adjacent facility, creating a world-class design and manufacturing operation that will enhance the products and services that we provide to our airline customers and airframe OEMs,” Ball says.

The building work will take place in two phases so that the existing work schedule is not interrupted.
