Aerobraze OKC awarded Air Force contract

The U.S. Air Force (USAF) awarded Wall Colmonoy Aerobraze Engineered Technologies Oklahoma City a five-year contract for the remanufacture of F-15 fighter aircraft fin and plate heat exchangers at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho.

Aerobraze Oklahoma City developed the remanufacture process to support USAF and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) clients who were seeking repair rather than new part replacement of their F-15 primary heat exchanger. The method includes complete replacement of the heat exchanger core, as well as inspection and testing in accordance with the USAF Technical Order. Since 2013, Aerobraze Oklahoma City has manufactured more than 500 F-15 primary heat exchangers.

AvAir expands Lufthansa Technik aftermarket agreement

Aviation aftermarket inventory solutions provider AvAir and Lufthansa Technik have amended their long-term aftermarket sales agreement to double the aircraft components covered. In the initial agreement between the two companies in 2020, AvAir took more than 9,000 line items from Lufthansa Technik’s worldwide material pools. The Arizona-based company now has an additional 9,000 aircraft components. The assets include Boeing 737, 737N, 747-400, 747-8, 777 Cargo, 787, Airbus A320, A330, A340, A350, A380, as well as regional aircraft types and miscellaneous material.

The agreement also includes as-removed and unserviceable units in addition to serviceable and overhauled items. The material is considered overstock with most parts coming from Lufthansa Technik’s material pool and aircraft teardowns. Components will be available for exchanges and sales from AvAir facilities in Dublin, Ireland and Chandler, Arizona.

Liebherr-Aerospace, Airbus collaborate on landing gear

Airbus and Liebherr-Aerospace reached a long-term agreement to optimize the design, production, development, and in-service maintenance of landing gear to be installed on future Airbus aircraft. Major outcomes will include specimen and validation test results and a pre-industrial demonstrator landing gear.

Liebherr currently supplies the Airbus A220 landing gear and the A350 nose landing gear.

This collaboration spreads Airbus’ Digital Design, Manufacturing, and Services (DDMS) ambitions, a digital-first approach to the way aerospace products are designed, manufactured, and operated across Airbus’ supply chain.
