A compact, modular 5-axis pull clamping system eliminates tool interference during workpiece machining. It allows easy height adjustment by coupling modules. The pins or screws can be attached to the underside of a plate or a workpiece for a standardized locating base on the clamps.
Locating repeatability is 5µm. Styles include flanged, single, double, and hook type. Together with special bushings, riser screws, pins, and clamping screws, the modular system saves space and increases efficiency in a variety of applications. For all modules, the body, clamping nut, and locking screw are all made from precision ground steel with a black oxide finish.
Flanged module clamps are used to locate and clamp a workpiece in conjunction with clamping screws. Activating the clamp pulls the clamping screw downward and secures it in position. This system includes two flat washers.
Single module clamps are also used to locate and clamp a workpiece in conjunction with clamping screws. Secured to the base plate, using a socket head cap screw with a locating bushing allows precise locating.
The double module clamp configuration is also used to locate and clamp a workpiece in conjunction with clamping screws. Activating the clamp pulls the clamping screw downward and secures it in position. It’s secured to the base plate using a clamping screw or tapered clamping screw for precise locating.
The hook clamping modules, for use on horizontal machining centers, have corresponding clamping screws to provide safe and easy loading and unloading of heavy workpieces or fixture plates. The clamp modules enable the user to suspend and support the workpiece or plate before clamping. Right side or left side tightening modules are available. Tapered bushings provide precise locating.
