Cleveland, Ohio – NASA’s Glenn Research Center is having a free public open house at its Lewis Field main campus in Cleveland, Saturday May 21 and Sunday May 22, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The center will offer plenty of things to do and see on both days, including
- Take a walking tour of the research campus and step inside vacuum chambers, wind tunnels, and other world-class facilities that have advanced aviation and space exploration
- See NASA aircraft used for aviation safety, technology, and environmental research, including Lake Erie algae monitoring
- Talk to and ask questions of Glenn engineers, scientists, and technicians to hear about the exciting work they’re doing in Cleveland
- See space exploration and aeronautics exhibits and demonstrations
- Attend special presentations by scientists and engineers.
- Enjoy hands-on activities and interactive exhibits for kids of every age
- Get social with @NASAglenn during the open house social media scavenger hunts and meetups
Admission is free, and registration is not required. Food, beverages, and NASA souvenirs will be available for purchase.

This is NASA Glenn’s first public open house since 2008. The event is part of a yearlong celebration of Glenn’s 75th anniversary year, which began Jan. 23, 2016. Other anniversary events being celebrated include a free open house at Glenn’s Plum Brook Station in Sandusky on June 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Details about the Plum Brook open house are forthcoming.
The theme of Glenn’s 75th anniversary celebration is “Our Past. Our Present. Your Future.”
