Lockheed Martin F-22 program wins 2015 John R. Alison Award

The John R. Alison Award is given annually for outstanding contributions by industrial leadership to national defense.

Fort Worth, Texas – The Air Force Association (AFA) presented its 2015 John R. Alison Award to the Lockheed Martin F-22 program at the annual Air and Space Conference and Technology Exposition in National Harbor, Maryland. Orlando Carvalho, executive vice president, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
 
"I am honored to accept this award on behalf of the Lockheed Martin-Boeing F-22 team," Carvalho said. "We are exceptionally proud of the work this team has accomplished in support of the U.S. Air Force."
 
The John R. Alison Award, given annually for outstanding contributions by industrial leadership to national defense, is named for World War II combat ace and Korean War veteran John Richardson "Johnny" Alison, widely regarded as the "father of Air Force Special Operations." This is the fourth John R. Alison Award presented to Lockheed Martin, including heritage companies.
 
The F-22 Raptor is a fifth-generation air dominance fighter jet.
 
The award states, in part, “The capabilities of the F-22 Raptor remain essential to deter and defeat threats and ensure regional and global security well into the future.”
