Fort Wayne Metals, a manufacturer of wire-based medical materials, has acquired G&S Titanium, a company specializing in titanium and specialty alloy wire and bar drawing. The acquisition will allow Fort Wayne Metals to better serve their customers by adding new products and capabilities to its portfolio.
“We have enjoyed a close relationship with G&S Titanium for many years, both as our supplier and our customer” states Scott Glaze, chairman and CEO of Fort Wayne Metals. “We have learned that our companies complement each other very well. Both companies are privately held, both manufacture right here in the Midwest, and both sell precision products that support critical applications, for example in the medical and aerospace industries. We’re well familiar with the quality of their products and the deep technical knowledge of their people, and look forward to working with them as we continue growing together.”
Roger Geiser, former owner of G&S Titanium, adds: “We also know that Fort Wayne Metals cares just as deeply about their employees as we do. I wanted to be sure that my company remains in the stewardship of someone who will take good care of our people.”
G&S was founded in Wooster, Ohio, in 1979. The company will remain in its current facilities and operate under the name G&S Bar and Wire LLC.
The company manufactures most grades of titanium and many other alloys in the form of shaped bars, fastener wire, spring wire, weld wire, medical wire, and precision ground medical bar. G&S is ISO9001:2018 and AS9100C certified.
Fort Wayne Metals Research Products Corp. manufactures high-quality materials, precision wire, strands and cables, and component assemblies for medical devices and other demanding applications. Fort Wayne Metals is an ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and AS 9100 registered company with more than 1,000 employees at its corporate headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as well as in Columbia City, Indiana, and Castlebar, Ireland.
